This blog post will help you find the best bike paths in Cincinnati, Ohio.
No matter what your level of experience with biking or which direction you head out from downtown, there are a variety of great routes that locals love exploring by bicycle.
Why is Cincinnati a Great City for Cyclists?
Cyclists Love Cincy Because it Has…
- A Great Bike Share Program
- 200 Miles of Trails
- Special Cycling Events
- And More!
The Cincinnati Parks system has over 200 miles of trails that can be accessed by bike or on foot. These range from paved paths with steep hills like Hinkle Creek Trail to the relatively easy Great Miami River Loop.
There are also a number of bike events, like Bike Month and Ride Around Cincinnati Day. These are great ways to explore the city and socialize with fellow cyclists!
We also have a bike-share program, which means you can rent bikes from various stations around the city and use them for a few hours at a time.
Our Favorite Bike Paths in Cincinnati
When exploring Cincy by bike, there are plenty of great paths to choose from. There’s a path for every cyclist! Here are some of our favorite routes:
- Woodland Mound – This is a short but steep hill with an elevation gain of 100 feet. If you’re new to biking, this might not be the best route for you – but if it’s just too hot out then head up and over!
- Lunken Airport Bike Path – This path is a little easier than Woodland Mound and it’s also flat. Lining the banks of the Ohio River, this bike trail offers views of the city and Mt. Adams on clear days.
- Otto Armleder Memorial Park – This is a bike trail that’s great for more experienced riders. The difficulty level varies, and there are some hills to climb.
How to Stay Safe
- Wear a helmet
- Follow the Rules of the Road and be aware of your surroundings
- When possible, ride on bike lanes or designated trails
If biking at night make sure you have lights! You may also want to invest in some reflective gear so drivers can see you more clearly.
